Early Jack Nicholson

On the Criterion Channel, there's currently a collection of three early Jack Nicholson films from the 70s.  They are Five Easy Pieces, The King of Marvin Gardens, and The Last Detail.  I watched all three and it's turned me onto an entirely new era of filmmaking, New Hollywood, which is the birth of arthouse American cinema.  Sure, I've seen Easy Rider and some Cassavetes, but seeing these movies blew my mind (particularly The Last Detail and Five Easy Pieces).  The King of Marvin Gardens is interesting in its own right as a document of a dying Atlantic City.  Track these movies down and observe Jack Nicholson in his purest.
