My friend is obsessed with data visualization (Icebergs, Oscars, American Ninja Warrior)

My friend and labmate, Jake, is what we call a "methods" person. He loves thinking about the best or most novel ways to collect, analyze, and visualize huge sets of data. One of his recent for-fun projects shows the movement of Antartic Icebergs from daily location measures from 1991 to now. In his words, "Here you'll see how seemingly lifeless structures, icebergs, are actually full of energy and motion."
You can check it out here: http://www.data-nomadic.com/09-08-19 along with other super cool stuff like representations of American Ninja Warrior obstacles and the frequency of "thank you" in Oscar acceptance speeches over time.
