AI Art Ownership

Given our discussion in class about copyright, I thought this would be relevant - can an AI copyright and/or infringe on the art it makes? Does an AI really make the art at all? AI creates art through neural networks, specifically two sets of algorithms called a generator and a discriminator. People need to put data into the AI, but programming generates the art.
