Music Video: Afterlife by Arcade Fire
I first found this music video in early high school. It was deep in the time of Linklater's Boyhood and the mess of feeling 15. There is so much love in the video and although I was not the most attentive to artistic style when I first watched it, the video resonates with me today and is one of the few music videos I remember. Observing it now, I am confused by the darkness of the filming- although it depicts turbulence and stress in terms of content- the entire video feels like to me. Because of this, the lack of light feels out of place and forced. I chose this music video because I think it was the first time I ever felt, and could articulate, that a piece of art moved me.
