Crumpled Cloth, Coated and Monetized, 2019

I haven't stopped thinking about sharks being murdered and then suspended in formaldehyde for profit since Matt gave his presentation. I also haven't stopped thinking about just how much people are profiting from other people's works, and how artists are screwed over regularly.

I am very, very sad and upset by all of this (I think I will spend the next couple of weeks researching this more) but the shark especially made me consider the implications and boundaries of performance art. Specifically, does this count? At what point does a spectacle become something else? What are the true ethical implications of such a thing?

Very curious and seeking input!
